Guys,

I've been looking possibly to aftermarket install the PCM Navigation in my 987. When I look at some prices online, the 997 PCM Navigation unit is almost $1500 cheaper than the 987 PCM Navigation unit.

Is there a difference between the two? Can I save some money by installing a 997 nav unit in my 987?

Thanks!

Rob

Why don't you purchase one of the hand held held items? Consumer Reports just did a review. They are about $800. Just a thought.

.. because fools like me enjoy the OEM look ..

granted, I'd probably much rather enjoy Mr. T telling me "where to go" on a TomTom, but I don't think there's room enough on top of the dash for the TomTom (or Mr. T)

I may be wrong, but don't 997's come with PCM as standard WITHOUT the navigation module. The option you may be looking at is to add just the navi module to an existing PCM. For the 987, you need PCM (screen) plus the navi module. I also believe the aerial elements for the 987 sat nav are embedded in the windscreen, but you may be able to get around this with an alternative one.
