Anyone having problems with the remote not working when you try to lock or unlock the vehicle? 9 times out of 10 I have to use the key which ends up triggering the alarm if I don't start the car. This is a pain if you just want to get something out of the car.

Happens all the time. The contact inside the key is not touching the battery, I've tried inserting spacers on top of the key battery in order to push it down onto the contacts. It works for a while. You have to squeeze hard with your thunb onto the space between the two buttons and rolling the tip of the thumb onto the button. This works but is a pain.

What year car do you have ?

How far away from the car are you when you try to open ?

Are you aware of the delay between clicks on the lock / unlock sequence ? 2 FULL seconds

If your car is an 03/04/05 complain to the dealer, replacement keys were made available FOC because of range problems.
