Mileage is stored in the instrument cluster. If you find a used cluster you can send the cluster to an aftermarket shop to set the miles to match your car.

thanks tool pants

do you know where can find that kind of service .I have found speedometer with 80000 and I want to set to 83000 cause last time I checked on porsche it was 82600.

Definitely be careful - the Federal Odometer Act (Google it) is very restrictive about damage to odometers & odometer replacements & repairs. There are harsh penalties if you or the mechanic do not comply.

I had to sell one of my old cars with a (actual mileage unknown) because a fuse blew out that ran the mechanical odometer. It killed the value so much that I sold it to a family member for almost nothing.

thats why I want to do it ASAP

my last reading was last monday when my check engine light flashed I took the car to mechanic to check it. thats why I am good with anything more than 83000-85000 .if you guy know any one who would like to have the one that has 81000 and give me his +83k then I am fine with it.

This is easily fixed with a odometer correction tool

http://www.diga-soft.de/odometer-software.php

Called a Diga-consult. It's super expensive but worth it if you have a lease.

Also http://www.newagespeedometer.com/nas/order...3&pics=true

You send your ecu in and it's $500 to have it changed to whatever you want.

If you google Odometer reprogramming and adjusting tool a lot of sites come up. Sift through them, also change the search around a bit and you will find something. This has been going on and done for quite some time.

All of which was covered in tool pants link lol. oh well.
