Yesterday I had my Boxster at the dealer to replace the 4 broken vents in the dashboard (they fell apart) and the plastic piece on the co-driver side where the umbrella can be stored (the paint peeled off).

Now I have to show up again because they want to test something with the windblocker. That seems to be a new recall, but they could not give me details on what they are really looking for.

They now ordered a new part to test it with the original mounts. Either only the windblocker or the blocker incl. mounts have to be changed....

Does anybody know the reason for this? Heard it before? Maybe it's in Germany only, as we are the only ones allowed to drive top speed with the roof open on public roads :drive:

fwiw, my windblocker seems to be coming loose/apart on the right hand side of the car. It is "clicked" into place, but rattles/buffets above 50MPH.

Yesterday my windblocker was replaced (the glass). The reason: the plastic used for the frame can break.

It looked exactly the same, no (obvoius) redesign.

I never experienced any problem, even with top speed and open hood. But if you get it for free.....

My plastic wind blocker also rattles above 50MPH. I called my dealer in the US, but they said there hasn't been any recall for the US models. The dealer recommended putting some silicone gel or a small piece of styrofoam to get a tighter fit so it can reduce the noise.

This is service action w572. There are three different scopes depending on what they find including replacing the windstop, the clips and install some new rubber insulators.

i got the rubber insulators - four pieces of tape applied around the edges - now it rattles, never did before !
