Want to dispose of those awful orange tail lights? Well PAG came to the rescue and made them standard for the '03 model year. They are available as Tequipment from your dealer for a surprisingly low price. They can usually be found for less than $250 for the set for genuine OEM parts. This is a very simple install that only involves a very few fasteners and a few minutes, but the net effect is outstanding!

Here's a pic of the area inside the trunk corner. You can see one of the fasteners you must remove.

Here are the three types of fasteners founf on each side. Remove them all.

Unplug the electrical connection from the cluster.

Here's all the bits halfway through the job.

Now's a good time to clean underneath your lamps. I even waxed under mine (I'm kinda anal like that! :))

Make sure to reseat this gasket well, but otherwise as the Brits say "installation is merely the reverse of removal"!

Here's the mid-job comparo pic you've been waiting for!

And afterwards.

Big improvement, don't you think? Easy to do and yields a fantastic result.

Now you need the silver coated turn signal bulbs to complete the look and get rid of the remaining amber color. They still light up amber, but you can't see the amber when they are off.

FYI- I airbrushed my amber bulbs bright silver over a year ago. They illuminate as well as the expensive ones and surprisingly, no chipping or peeling after a year

I would like to see a picture of a non SE with the reds.

When the clears came out for 2003 people went crazy with the retrofits. I thought it would happen again with the reds. But it did not.

I have a '00 will that work for the clear light switch?? I just bought clear side marker lights and would love to keep things even. Any idea what the cost would be?? Oh and my factory Lugs are looking pretty rough, why doesn't Porsche make rust proof like their cars.

Thanks,

I saw a set of all reds on a dark colored 986 and thought it looked nasty (good nasty). I want to do mine with them.
