:o Can someone help me with my 1999 996 (58k miles) engine malfunction? The engine idles and runs smooth however under hard acceleration, the power drops off somewhat above 5000 RPM. Still smooth, just less power. Tried to fix by changing plugs and cleaning 02 sensors. No efffect. Recently got check engine light. Scanned and got P1123 and P1125. Cleared and have not returned. Could the flat spot be a bad 02 sensor? Coil? MAF?

Thanks,

Tim Sandford

Does your car have a stock air filter? Quite a few people that messed with the air intake back in 1999 reported similar problems

:clapping: Success! Follow up to my own question. The flat spot at 5800+ was a bad MAF sensor. :clapping:
