Still trying to locate the gremlin that is causing my P0453 code... one possible cause is Short to B+, so I want to test the circuit.

Now I have a little more than layman's experience with electronics... but I am no Electrical Engineer. I've found the Fuel Tank Pressure Sensor that I want to test in the schematics (2001 Boxster), but have run into a slight problem.

I have no clue how to test it properly or where to tap into the circuit... I see in my Service Manual that both the ground and sensor return are on Connector "D" (per my Service Manual) of the DME.

I'm assuming one would need a break-out box to test it properly and accurately... but that is not a luxury I have.

Any help would be appreciated.

For future reference... you can remove the "casing" off the connector... stuck a pin into the back of each wire I needed to test and voila.

Hi!

Iwm dont know exactly what fault mean but from my study , the DME get signal from pressure sensor and tell him what the pressure in tank. then if you have a short to b+ , you have to inspect the wire with a waltmeter for short.
