I had the battery off to do some repairs (clean the MAF), and now, with the battery back on, I can`t get the engine lid to open. It does it`s usual sound, but the **** thing is jammed or something. Is there a manual release like for the front lid?

any suggestions, it`s kind of an emergency since my airbox is out, the car can`t move, and I can`t open the **** lid!

thanks marco

Yes the manual release is behind the left rear tail light. You will need to reach up and behind the wheel liner to fine the cable and pull it.

thanks you sir

I took out both rear light, saw the wire and released the lid. **** electrical release!

Now I go put in my airbox and pray my MAF cleaning did the job.

Leaving for DE in 2 hours, would have been painful to call the head instructor and tell him I can`t make it because I couldn`t open my bloody engine lid!

My lid wouldn't open either 2 days ago. I was putting in a new maf and reinstalling the OEM air box. Drove it to work the next day and when I got home, it worked fine. Thanks, Loren, for the informative manual release technique.
