Hi, new member here! This place looks like wonderful source of information!

A few weeks ago, I bought an 06 C4S Cab, 6 speed manual transmission. (US). Driving it home from the dealer, the airbag/seat belt sensor came on. While I drove the car for the next 36 hours, the light would come and go under a variety of conditions - passenger seat empty, adult in passenger seat, while driving, sometimes it would be on when I switched on the ignition, sometimes off only to come on during the drive, or go off during the drive. I had scheduled front/rear radar/laser detector installation with the dealer, so I mentioned the airbag light. They told me they needed to order a new control box from Germany. This took nearly 2 weeks! I just got the car back this past Friday, complete with new control box. While driving home, the airbag sensor tripped again. This time, the interior door lights would come on as well. After a few minutes, I could hear an electical short sound from the dash, and a few seconds later the airbag sensor and door lights would extinguish. This has happened several times, interspersed with just the airbag light and not the door lights coming on. I'm calling the dealer service dept. back this morning, but wondered if anyone has information or has had a similar experience. Searching the board, I only found 996 references to airbag sensors. Thanks!

A few 997's have exibited strange electrical problems - they can all be fixed. If your dealer can not sort it out they should get help from PCNA... or you should find another dealer.
