Greetings folks. I am about to get a set of litronic lights, without the wiring harness, or the leveling controller. Can I use just the litronic headlamp units by swapping out my stock amber headlamps, or do I necessarily need the added wiring harness / leveling controller. Will it cause any electrical problems?

Any help would be really appreciated.

I thought it might be illegal to have Xenon headlights without electronic levelling system which protects the other road-users...but I'm not sure.

The Litronic light units will work just fine without installing the accompanying wiring harness.

In a retro fit situation, leveling is not available, no matter how much wiring you install. That only works with factory installed Litronics.

The benefit of the wiring harness that comes with a Litronic retrofit kit is that it enables the xenon portion of your new unit (the low beam) to rotate up to join the hi beam (still just a halogen bulb) when you select hi beam, thereby making hi beam a good deal more effective.

Hi,

Thanks for the information. Here is a picture of the driver side litronic I am about to get. It seems it has a broken tab. Is this vital or can I install it without it.
