Hello,

I searched history today and couldn't find answers to a couple window related questions, so thought I'd ask. Vehicle is a '97 Boxster w/ ~70k miles:

1) My passenger window has a nasty squeak/squeal when going up or down, worse in hot weather. Anybody run into issue before? I'm wondering if this is more so the rubber seals at the top of the door that need to be replaced or lubed, or is this something internal in the mechanism?

2) When the top is down on car and windows are down and I turn key-off, upon opening doors the windows auto-up. I assume this is a safety/theft prevention type software feature- vehicle assumes you are leaving it with the top down so it puts windows up. Is this normal, is there a bypass? I hate to keep putting windows back down again when I'm just making a quick key-off stop somewhere.....any/all help is appreciated :)

I have the same issue with the driver's side window - but only when it's wet - I seems that the window is rubbing against the seal. I too would be interested in knowing is there is a DIY cure ie lube etc - or should the stripping be replaced.
