Accidently posted a similar question in the 997 forum yesterday....

My dealer installed a new left headlight on my 02 996 Targa. The light is now aimed significantly lower than it was previously, the dealer says that this was done according to a TSB. Has anyone heard of this?

Frankly, the beam is just too low to drive safely. When I follow the manual's instructions on how to adjust vertical height, there is no screw to adjust! That is, no screw behind tab "B" listed on page 234 of the manual. Mine are BiXenons, but it seems they should be adjustable, even with the self-leveling circuitry. Does anyone know if the BiXenons have the adjustment screws in a different location?

Thanks!

I have bi xenon and the adjustment screw is in there . It is just in a long way. I think it is maybe a 6 mm hex key. I was just able to reach the spot with my normal length allen wrench. A long tee handle type would work best. Try looking with a flashlight or remove the headlight assembly completely for a good view of the mechanism. It comes out quite easily with the tool and instruction in the owners manual. There are 2 adjusters. The rubber cover is the up down and the hard plastic blue cover ( that breaks when you try to remove it ) is the side to side

Ok, thanks! I'm going to take it into the dealer again - since it is under warranty and they should fix it - and get them to show me a copy of the TSB. Failing that, I'll try some DIY.

I seem to be able to *just* illuminate something at 30ft using the left headlight which seems way to short to me. In fact, the CA DMA says it should be 100ft on low beams, 350ft on high beams.
