Am I Hot

My Boxster would run at 185 on the temp gauge. Now have an 03 C2 and the gauge is between the 185 line and the next line So I'd say it's around 195. Not sure if this too hot or not, the coolant is at min. after a drive so that may be the case of being hot and needs to be topped off. After shutting down the smell frm the engine smells a little like it does when the radiator has over heated. Any thoughs are appreciated!

That does not sound like it is much above normal.

I would check for debris in front of your radiators. I'd also check that your coolant tank cap part number ends in 01 (you want to replace any cap that ens in 00 as they leak). And, finally I'd look for a small leak around the tank or from the hoses under the car.
