Well i purchased my first Porsche a couple days ago after moving on from my M3...

I had a PPI done and it has an RMS leak, but other then that, it passed mechanically so i bought the car.

I allready did my first 2 fixes(seatbelt was backwards, and 3rd mirror bolt was loose) and am goign to be doing my 3rd(increase keyless entry range) later today.

I look forward to being very involved in the Porsche community and I thank all of you guys for the information I have allready gathered from the site.

I am an avid DIYer so hopefully I will have my share of contributions!

I do habe 1 question so far, and that is, is there a way to add an audible indication when the alarm/keyless is activated? I dont know if it is because it is a new car to me, but I am always paranoid that it didn't lock!! :help:

Thanks and here are a couple pics!

Not really, an audible beep on a Porsche means you have a zone open. If you want a beep then leave the center (armrest) console open.

What I and several others have done instead is the sidemarker hack. This hack will make the side markers flash (like the front and rear lights) when you arm and disarm the alarm system. An added benefit is that the sidemarkers will also now flash when you use your turn signals.

As I'm sure you are aware, UK spec cars flash the indicators (turn-signals in American?) and side markers when locking and unlocking. I believe there are also differences in other countries relating to the alarm horn on-time. Have you ever tried changing the country coding in the alarm control module to achieve the same result as the sidemarker hack? Just a thought.

Wouldn't that be a problem since the US cars use 315 MHz and UK (and most of RoW) use 433 MHz?

Might be worth trying....
