My car is a RHD 996 on a 98 plate. A number of weeks ago, I had a problem with the siren going off all the time. I stopped this by disconnecting the power (with ignition switched on) to the siren which sits on the passenger side of the car next to the battery.

Now the horn sounds after about 20 seconds of engaging the central locking. All doors, bonnet, engine cover, central glove box are closed. This is happening more and more frequently, and therefore i'm unable to leave the car anywhere since i can't lock it.

The car was recently taken to OPC where they tested the alarm system only to £500-£700 worth of work in ripping out the alarm system and replacing it with a new one.

Reading through other threads of a similar nature i believe that it could be a faulty door lock ? that is setting the car alarm (horn) all the time.

Has any one got any ideas ? or just a quick fix to allow me to lock the car with out the Horn sounding all the time.

Thanks in advance.
