Did a couple of searches... but didn't come up with anything

Looking for part number and price for a non-smoker type of plug that would replace the cigarette lighter (the heated element); local dealer could not find it on their system...

car is a 2003 Boxster

many thanks in advance

You should try looking for the cap that has '12V Outlet' on it. If Porsche can't help, as usual the VW/Audi cigarette lighters are exactly the same, so one of those will fit.

I had the exact plug you are looking for in my '99 996. I don't think you can buy it separately. It came as part of a non-smoking kit that included replacing the ashtray with an open tray. It was plastic and matched the orginal lighter except it showed a flame with a line through it indicating it wasn't a lighter.

Where can you find this complete kit?

About 3 years ago Porsche told me they didn't have this anymore and it would not be offered in the future.

As 0586slb suggested try a VW, Audi, or even BMW dealer.

I would guess it doesn't need to be Porsche specific.

The part # is 996.652.103.00.A01, "socket for M580".

It should be available from the factory, I got it about a year ago. The cost was the equivalent of $5 or $6.
