Can you tell us what you spent? And vehicle data. Some of these companies don't insure 99's for example.

Be careful here... a few of these companies (e.g. 1SourceAutoWarranty) have gone out of business leaving the warranty holder "out of luck".

Loren has a great point, check with BBB and BBBOnLine for track record. Some companies change names every year or so and show up in a different state with a different name. The DA for Ohio was investigating a few (read in the news about a year ago), you may want to Google it and stay clear of the crooks. Check the Sate they operate from for complaints, that State Commissioner of Insurance for any history.

I felt comfortable with the track record of Warranties for Wheels, and their history with BBBOn Line and BBB. But buyer beware. Don't let the websites lead you, some of the niftier websites are crooks.

I have a 99 Cabrio, at the time it was 39K miles. This is the quote from December 2004:

"This is for W4W Super Plus listed component bumper-to-bumper coverage for 4 years and 60,000 additional miles with a $50.00 deductible and wear and tear coverage. Add $200 for a true zero deductible. Towing, rental car, road- side assistance, seals, gaskets and full parts and labor replacement are included, along with most emission related components as well!

This is the most comprehensive coverage in the industry available for your vehicle.

The total paid in full is only $2155.00. On certain programs monthly payments are available. Please call for details. This rate includes all applicable discounts, totaling $275.00 on this class of vehicle. This quote is good through Dec 31, 2004."

I have not used it the warranty yet either. But my dealer did recognize them and the fact that when they authorize work, it is done through a credit card (theirs) so no waiting for PO's or checks. Good luck and search carefully

I have been quoted a 3 year extention on my 4 year factory waranty for $3800 Cdn. I must decide in the next couiple of weeks because the car must have in excess on 1 month waranty left on it to be eligible.

Probably going to go for it. The policy is underwritten by a company that I recognize from way back. If you don't make any claims, you get the principle back. Sound weird but I guess its like a mega deductable to dicourage claims.

Called the same company, w4w, got the exact same quote.

btw-my car is a 2000 c2 w/13700 miles.

also got a follow up phone call today.

i think he was looking for an instant sale.

while i have no problem with that, i gotten into the habit of not making too many instant decisions

so i think i would have liked a day or so to digest the info before any contact.

minor point, but i just hate being bombarded by telephone solicitors.

As Loren said buyer beware, I have VPC as my aftermarket warranty and paid $2750 w/ $100 deductible for 4 year 40,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty. My 2001 C4 has RMS leak as well as head gasket leak and brought to the dealership who diagnosed it. Co. would not authorize the whole service for they want the service charge to be $60/hr while the dealership charges $85/hr. They want me to pay the difference. DEalership even told me that even have the nerve to ask if the dealership gives discount. I shop around on other dealership of which the nearest is 3 1/2 hours from me and they even charge $110/hr. I could have easily paid the difference but I could just take it as I paid them and never asked for discount for the warranty.
