I am changing my rear console, I'm not doing a short shifter install....Is it possible to remove the rear console without taking the shift knob off....If I seperate the leather boot from the silver bezel, is there enough room to slide the console over the knob/boot......I just really don't want to take the knob off......

I have the B&M instructions etc, which don't help regarding my question

Thanks in advance

We always remove the shift. But I have seen pictures on the message boards of guys removing the console without removing it. Lift up on the bottom of the boot to unclip it. When it is time to remove the console you angle the boot so it will go through the hole in the console.

Just realized you are in the 997 section and what I said above is for 996/986. Don't know anyone who has tried it the way you want on a 997/987.
