Hello all Love this web site glad to have joined it

Just bought a 996 ( I think, Carrera 1999 3.2 ) the stereo worked great first 2 days

On Third Day it stopped working. The lights come on all the channels everything there but would flash on and off every 5-8 seconds.

Looked at all the fusses and found nothing thought if I remove battery and put it back it will reset and I can just put the code and off I go

Well NOT. Now once I turn it on I get 5 seconds to put my code in before it shuts off on its own. Anyone seen this or had this happen? Is it dead?

Does the radio face open up so you can put in a CD? If so, I recommend cleaning the contacts on the bottom when you remove the radio faceplate. They get a bit dirty.

I got a 99 about 18 months ago, same problem. Do you have the radio manual? The faceplate just pulls out. I used a q-tip and alcohol. Electrical contact cleaner is probably better.
