Noticed my '99 US Boxster 2.5 w/ about 80K having what seems to be a more difficult time getting signal that clutch pedal is down in order to allow ignition. I gotta jam on the thing to get the car to start. Worse in warm weather. Any thoughts? This is a terrific forum, by the way.

I have a 99 boxster I am having the a similar problem Last night i went to get gas and when i put the key in it was stiff i had to wiggle it a bit to get the key in after I pump my gas and went to start the car the key went in easy but the car would not start the car just makes a click sound and will not turn over or attempt to start. The radio and lights work but it just will not start........

If the key won't go in then you likely have a bad ignition switch.

See the DIY in the 996 Common fixes area.
