Hi,

I have to ship my 996 from DC to Spain. Can anyone recommend a shipper, or provide any tips?

Thanks,

Just Google it then check prices and ensure your car is in a container. Outside that recommend drop off at port and then have them deliver to your door. Reason for this is that they have experience in what is required to clear the port. If you are coming over under a SOFA agreement you will need to get your tax exempt status paperwork filled out and sent to the importer to clear the port, if you are shipping without that then you will have to check what taxes and tags you need for your car. I shipped my car from NYC to Germany to my door with no real major problems. Lastly the obvious ensure you insure your car, I did mine through USAA but I am military.

Good Luck

Just make sure you drive the car into the container, and it is not opened by anyone else but you. I have seen port staff loading/unloading cars and trust me you do not want your car in their hands

Crawling through old posts and finally saw one I know something about!!

I've shipped my car a couple times (West Coast --> East Coast / Europe --> East Coast) and would suggest the most recent company I've used (https://www.a1autotransport.com/ship-car-to-europe.php). They treated my 911 with care, and it was honestly a lot less hassle than I expected. All I did was drop off the keys and made sure my tank was mostly full. A couple weeks later had with me, all without a scratch!

Hope that helps.
