I have a 2000 996 with the standard clear lights and want to upgrade to litronic lights. Do I have to stay within a certain year range (similar to body parts, 99-01) or can I use the the newer looking litronics (996 631 059/060 20) MY02+?????

Also, on the MY 02+ lights, what is the difference between the 996 631 059/060 20 lights and the 996 631 055/056 50 lights??? Visually they appear identical.

Thanks again for the input!

If you have a MY99-MY01 you must use the older lights (or change the fenders and bumper also).

If you want the Litronic's to work as the factory intended (low beams mix with the high beams for even more light when high beams are on)... then you will need the upgrade kit that includes the wiring and control boxes. The part number for this kit 000 044 900 64.

On the MY02 lights the 59/60 lights are Litronic high and low beams (or Bi-Xenon) and the 55/60 lights are Halogen (standard). But you can't use those on your car ;)
