Hello All,

It's a 2003 GT Silver 50 Years of the 550 Spyder LE Boxster S. The car was damaged in a flood and I'm trying to revive it.

I read the 2001 Boxster manual and there's a line from the DME ECU to Immobilizer. What kind of signal does it send? 12V, 5V, Earth or some resistance? Is there anyway to bypass the immobilizer and just crank up the engine?

I've got fuel pressure and the eGas throttle moves when the ignition key is turned on. I just wanna get spark and get it started so I dare buy it.

The pinout from the 2001 is so very different from this 2003 car. This says it's a Cartronic ECU. The socket is not a one-piece but about 4 pieces? So, if anyone has a pin-out, I'd be grateful.

Sprint aka Alvin.

*Thankfully*, Porsche have made it as difficult as possible to bypass the Immobiliser. There are no documented or legitimate ways to bypass it. If it were fairly common knowledge, every $h1t-head of a car thief would just browse a forum like ours.

The Immobiliser module and the key have a two way encrypted communication using the seed/response method. The Immobiliser module thinks of a random number and sends it to the key. The key then applies a 128 bit algorythm to it and sends the answer back. If the answer is as expected, the Immobiliser module then has a similar conversation wth the DME, with the encrypted seed/response. Only then, will the DME allow a start.

Hey.. I'm cool, not a thief! Have a beer!

The key does "blink" when I press the key. And I know for a fact that the Immobilizer module, which is under the seat has been submerged in water.

So, the right thing now to do is to bring it to the dealership to have it reprogrammed?

Will I need a new DME module?

I'm asking becoz I don't want to be screwed over by the dealer...

Thanks for listening!

Sprint.
