I have the following two problems with my '98 Boxster (right hand drive). Anytime the passenger door or window is opened the demist button for the mirrors/rear window is illuminated.

I just have to press the button to turn it off. Has anybody ever experienced this? Is there a quick fix to repair this?? or do I need to take a trip down to my local Porsche dealership.

Also my driver's side mirror adjust is not working, would this be tied into the problem above?

Any help on the above issues will be very much appreciated.

Many thanks,

Aidan in Dublin - Ireland

Hi there, I have just joined this site.

I also have this problem on the 98 boxster.

I was going to get it looked at by the opc but they will charge a fortune in labour to strip down things and find out where the short circuit is.

The wing mirror problem I solved by uncliping the side housing and just wiggling the wires and it worked...I think there was a bit of water in there.

The demisting button I still dont know whats wrong with it and its not causing any problems so I have left it.
