Hey guys,

I've just bought a 97 Boxster, and everything worked fine when I got it on Friday. Today, whenever I press the snowflake button for the AC compressor, the snowflake symbol just flashes on and then off again. If I hold the button down, the snowflake stays up on the display, but upon releasing the button, the snowflake disappears. Any ideas as to what the problem could be??

Loren will probably move this to the correct place, but in answer to your question:

Has it been cold outside? If the AC is operated below an outside temperature of 4°C, the compressor is automatically shut off, as there is no need for it. If its a lot warmer, there could be many other reasons why the AC is shutting off, from a low R134A pressure, through a high engine temperature to DME intervention.

Ahhhhh, OK.

Yes, the times when I've had the air con snowflake on is when it's **** cold outside. I tried it again this afternoon and it just seemed to right itself. So as long as there's no problem with the car, then I'm happy. Thanks a lot man. ;)
