Hi there :(

Just like many other Boxster owners, the rear plastic window on my 1997 Boxster cracked. Anyone has any suggestions on repair?

My car has no more warranty. I've read that some local shops change them for a reasonable fee. Anybody has any idea of much this would cost at the dealer?

I guess I'm looking for an experienced upholstery shop that has changed these windows before... I'm located in Stow, MA. If you kow any shop in the state would be great, but if not, I could always ship the whole top if the price is right.

Thanks!

Hi, sorry to hear about your window. I have the same problem. Forunately where I am, a local top and trim place is also a porsche repair shop. they have worked on many of my old 911's (in fact, owner is local PCA chapter president). Anyway, they quoted me approx. $500 for repair (since they have to remove the top). If your top is off, I would think it wouild be substantially less. I know they do quality work, as they have sewn leather for me too. If you can't get a local upholstery shop you trust, I'll get you their number (it's called Bill's Top & Trim, in Elkhart, In). Hope this helps!
