Sport Design Wheels v.s. Carrera S Wheels

I have the sport design and think they look better, but they're a real pain to clean. I ought to know as I've had both. Just be prepared for more work since there are more sharp angles to catch brake dust. I have a 997S, Cab, Silver/Black. Good luck.

I agree with Happy911, I have had both and the sports design are more dificult to clean, however, they look the mutts nuts after a good clean (even better after a total re-furb)

Sports Design gets my vote

S wheels have a much more aggressive look in my opinion. Sport Design look more geared towards the "street machine" type of car.

When I bought my C2S I really wanted the stock wheels. I thought they looked more aggressive...

But when I saw my car with the Sport Designs, I never looked back.

They are really difficult to clean, I give them a good 20 to 30 minutes when I wash my car.

I just like to be unique and out of all the 997s I've come across I'm the only one with Sport Designs.

In addition, I read that they're a little lighter than stock.

The car sure looks nice with the sport design wheels on them.

The car I am getting is equipped with the Carrera S wheel, I wonder if the dealer will let me exchange them for the sport design one by just paying the difference between those two? Did you guys just buy another set or did you guys swap them with some dealerships also?

My car was already equipped with them...

They did however give me the option to swap with other Carreras they had in stock.

I love my Sport Designs, but yes - they are tedious to clean. They aren't hard to clean - that title goes to the BMW basketweaves from the '90s... but they are a pain.

I hit them with a coat of Rejex last week, we'll see if the dust comes off easier next wash. If Rejex doesn't do it, maybe Wheel Wax?

I have a C4S and like the stock Carrera S wheel. Different looking and gives a clear view of the painted caliper.
