Loren,

Thanks. I am new to this site (which contains an amazing amount of info) and am noticing that the search capabilities are not very good and often do not locate what you're searching for even though the info may be there.

if you search for "Remove tiptronic shift knob", the post that you referred me to does not come up in the results.

Don't mean to gripe just want to point it out in case tweaks can be done to the search engine.

I just turned on Full Text Search here (at a number of folks request) so it works just like Google.

You need to search for "+Remove +tiptronic +shift +knob" and it will come up.

If you need help with search just click on the "Advanced Usage Help" link on the search page.

Excuse me for being dense but as per those instructions, what exactly is the locking button, the white clip just underneath the botton lip of the silver tip button? How far up into the button is it? Just feels like it's going to break if I try and lever it off.

what exactly is the locking button

It is the button you push down on to move the shifter.

Took two guys (including a Porsche factory trained tech) at the shop to remove mine.
