My coolant cap ends in -00, and the coolant is a little low (on a dead-cold motor, ~.5 inch below min).

Can someone please tell me the full number of the new 01 coolant cap (is it still $14.95?)? Also, is it worth adding coolant?

Thanks,

Ross

Cap is 996 106 447 01. I just add water to bring up the level.

Is regular tap water OK? or should I boil it first?

Boil it if your are going to drink it, or live in New York. I grew up in New York.

I use San Jose Municipal tap water, as does my San Jose dealership.

The thing is, Porsche sells cars around the world, and cannot control the quality of your water.

I would suggest you buy a 1 gallon jug of distilled water at your local supermarket. Then you might go to Porsche heaven. You can also use it for the battery.
