remove rear bumper

Recommended Posts

I'm planning to do a full install on of Gemballa cat back system on a 99 C2. The install looks like a PSE install with the bypass and everything. I like some instructions on how to remove the rear bumper please.

There is no reason to remove the bumper for any exhaust mod. It will completely remove with bumper in place.

Instructions are on this forum somewhere with pics posted by Loren. Search for PSE.

I removed the bumper when I installed PSE, and I was happy about it. I know that its possible to do without, but it was **** convenient. For someone like me, who hasn't done many mods, it was just plain helpful to be able to see everything.

Removing bumper took 5-10 mins and was worth it.

Next time I'll try it on a real lift and without removing anything

What crack are these people smoking? I tried and tried to pull out the muffler without removing the bumper. No way. Not without bending the body. That plastic basket that holds the heat shield is just too stiff to pull the muffler down. I end up removing the bumper and the basket to change it. I'm glad I did because getting the new muffler back in wasn't easy either.

To get the muffler off without removing the rear bumper it is easiest to remove the rear tires. Once you've done that you can rotate the muffler down and out. I've done it many times.
