See the thread on the Durametric product here.

I have one now for evaluation.

Loren - I bought one last week and just tried it today. It cleared my airbag fualt code and light succesfully. Checked my other fault codes. Several in the alarm functions, won't clear these (as the ebay add stated it would not yet do this), also found codes in the seat memory, 26- pot mirror left vertical open circuit . 24-pot mirror left horizontal open circuit, 22 - pot mirror right vertical circuit open and 20 - pot mirror right horizontal open circuit. Any idea what these are. My mirror are working fine. However, when I did my heated seat DIY I lost the dipping of the right mirror when in reverse and my seat memory. I may have a loose connection that I did not know about.

Durametric says they will update all software as they add features. Anything I can do to help your evaluation, let me know.

I went thru that other thread and had a few questions ... not sure which thread I should pick, this or that ... oh well ...

1. Does this tool also read/clear the P-codes ? I'm thinking of buying a OBD2 reader and if this does it I might as well buy this tool instead.

2. Does it plug into the OBD2 port or some other port on the car ?

3. Does this tool display performance metrics (0-60, rpm etc) similar to the DigiMoto tool ?

4. Does this tool capture logs as you drive with the wires connected to the (secured) laptop

hi, wish to know wat happend to the evaluation of the durametric tool.

thanks.

I can tell you that the Durametric Software works fine with everything I have tried it on so far. That includes DME 5.2.2 and DME 7.2. I have not yet tested it on a DME 7.8.

DME 7.8 is the most complex so I am waiting until I can try it on a one before I finish writing the review. If your car has either of the early DME's then it will work fine.

If you are looking for an inexpensive code readout and fault resetting tool - then this is the tool I would recommend. At $197 this tool is much less than the $3600 I paid for a used PST2 (that needed a new battery and hard drive - LOL).
