I can't get my radio code to work. I have the CDR-210.

I took my car to a bodyshop and had them install litronic lights. When I got the car back the radio didn't work and said CODE. So I found my radio card and entered the code. It didn't work. My manual says to enter the code and then push the signal seek switch. I'm not sure what they mean by signal seek switch. I pushed the + for station tuning and I've also tried several of the other buttons but nothing will work. I've had to go through the cycle of waiting for 60 minutes several times. The nearest Porsche dealer is over 100 miles away and they are not open on Saturday or Sunday. I bought the car used so I suppose the previous owner could've put in a different radio (with a different code) but that doesn't seem very likely.

Any ideas on what else I can try??

After you enter the code you push the toggle switch on the right with the arrows.

If you are doing everything right and it still does not work then pul the radio and check the serial number on the radio against the serial number on the code card.

I received my radio keys and pulled the radio today. Well now I know why the code wasn't working. It's a different serial number than the one on my code card. Seems strange to me but I guess the previous owner put a different radio in. So now I call my porsche dealer and they can give me the code?

Thanks for the tip.

Sometimes the radio has been replaced, sometimes the car has the wrong code card. Not uncommon and that is why I suggested checking the serial numbers.

I do not think the 996 used the 210 radio unless it was an early car.

PM me the last 4 digits of the radio serial number.

I'm guessing you solved your problem. But for future searchers, you can simply call becker/porsche and they should read back your code. Once you get the new code, its a good idea to write it on the back of the stereo. Yeah, the thieves will also know your code - but they would have already (hope not) stolen the stereo by then.
