Rear wing warning light came on

Question for Loren: My car had installed the factory aerokit recently, and it was the first time I drove my car pass 75mph last evening. Surprisingly the malfuntion light of the rear wing came on. I then headed home and checked to see if the new bypass wire was securely plugged in and it was. As I opened up the engine lid, I found out that the little lamp was not even turned on while the lid was opened. Would this be a fuse problem? It looks so simple, and there is only one plug to get the electricity. Any help will be appreciated.

Was your aerokit factory installed or dealer installed?

If it was dealer installed then they may not have plugged everything in or even used the new wiring harness. Plus they also have to use the PIWIS tester to code the spoiler setting.

Aerokit was installed by a bodyshop. I'm very sure they installed the new wiring harness because I was there during the installation.

Earlier I pulled out the fuse for the spoiler and it was fine, but now the problem is worst; PSM and PASM failure lights both came on. This is very frustrating.

Well, if they did not code the fixed rear spoiler with a PIWIS tester then that explains the spoiler light. You might as well have the dealer read out the fault codes for the PSM and PASM lights when they recode the spoiler.

There is a 12 page TSB for installing the aerokit - did the body shop have that?

Dealer charged me $135 to deactive the warning light, but the trunk lamp does not seem to turn on when the trunk is open. is there any way to find out if there is power to the lamp and the fan? This is frustrating.

9.5 Install electric wire harness.

9.5.1 Connect engine compartment light to wire harness.

9.5.2 Clip electric wire harness, Figure 13, item A and engine compartment light into rear lid.

OK stupid question.

Does the rear deck still lift if you have a factory Aerokit installed? Or do they deactivate the lift of the deck?

I have an Aerokit being installed on my new C2S and I never asked this at the dealership.

The rear deck lid lifts just as before - the rear spoiler does not move.

I was under the impression that the rear deck was able to still lift at higher speeds. I knew that the fixed rear spoiler was not moving being fixed. Just never seen an Aerokit 996 or 997 on the road to view if the desk still lifted.

My build date: March, hopefully, late April or May for my C2S.

Black, Black full leather, Yellow seatbelts, PCCB's, Sport shift, PSE, Sport Chrono, Adaptive sport seats, Bose, Nav, Aerokit, and more. Also, an attempt to remove/add Cayenne satellite system into 997.

It is the same light fixture as the front trunk so if there is a switch in front there is one in the rear. Could be a bad or missing bulb too - see your owners manual. As I recall the triggering microswitch is on the latch mechanism.
