I know this has been asked before, but I cant see that there has been any resolution to the problem.

Namely, after filling up with fuel, the guage still displays the "empty" reading. Then after 1 or 2 days, the guage mysteriously starts reading correctly again.

Have had a new sender unit, to no avail.

I am aware of all of the idiosynchrasies of the fuel guage system, and have tried removing the key whilst refuelling, and locking the car after refuelling, still has this problem, which happens every time I refuel incidently.

As I say, by searching the forum, I know others have seen this exact problem, but so far no suggestions as to what is causing it - Can anyoneplease assist me

I have the same thing happen on cold days, dealer looked at it twice, said it is common......but not normal. Bottom line they don't have a fix for it yet.

I have a 2002 c4s manual and last night the gauge did the same thing you are talking about for the first time. Will check on Saturday to see if it reads the fuel quantity correctly. On my in dash computer the miles until empty did not change either it read the same before and after the refueling 45 miles until empty.
