need to replace the rear tires on my Boxster 2000 (45K miles). Can someone please recommend decent tires? This is the first time I am replacing them and I don’t like to go to the dealer. Usually I don’t drive aggressive.

Thanks,

Zoran

Ditto. If you are going to change all four, I would recommend Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 if the sizes are available. I have them on both my wife's Audi A4 and my 2002 Carrera C2. I am extremely pleased with their performance in dry and wet conditions.

I agree with reefish. I have the Goodyear F1 Eagle GS-D3 as well and I can't say enough good about them. They are smooth and quiet and are awesome in the rain. They are perfectly good handling in the dry as well. Probably just a small notch down from the PS2's. They are a whole lot cheaper though. All in all I am very happy with them. C&D rated them the best in a recent tire test. The test was pretty detailed and informative. I think it was the recent December issue. Good luck in your choice.

Got my Yokohama Avs Es-100 tires from Tirerack. Had 'em for 30,000 miles and got the same tires as the replacement. It's been very grippy, handles well in So Cal weather...and held very nicely in some heavy Northern Cal rains. And you can't beat the price.

A few interesting views from the guys here, but I only go for Michelin Pilot Sports on every car I own. Their wet perfomance is very good. In England, Costco always do a good deal - is that the same for SF?
