Hey everyone.

I ordered the PSE system for my C2S and discovered four possible problems when I opened the UPS beaten box...

There are three dents on one muffler and one dent on the other.

Please take a look at the attached pics, any opinions on if this could effect sound or performance.?.

Thanks.

I wouldn't worry about dents but I would shake them for rattles. If they rattle chances are you have a broken internal weld. If not, I would use them as is.

A point of principle. UPS should pay for a new PSE for you. The wait of one to two weeks is worth the fact that UPS needs to be held accountable for their slppiness in the handling of their packages.

As Loren has noted, the PSE is probably ok, however you have paid good money to enjoy a new product. and that it be delivered without damage.

I don't know about your cost of shipping, but UPS is outrageous in its brokerage handling fees when shipping to Canada. I have never had issue with paying for value, but there have been times when the packages have arrived in a condition that suggests the package was used as US. Army target practice.

I agree, they are outrageous... $87.00 just to figure out how much tax to charge me.

...my office uses UPS every day, I think I might try a claim, I would prefer to have a un-damaged PSE and I do have at least two more months until I take the car out of storage.

What a hassle!

I hate UPS.

I have spent the past three weeks waiting for an update on my claim. After I made another call to customer service they sent me a fax claiming "insufficent packing"...

What a load, how rough did they have to be to put 4 dents in two steel mufflers.?. It's not like I was receiving china.

I hate UPS.

In addition, I've never seen a cut-away view of the PSE. Would the denting effect the internal volume? Or is there an inner chamber?

That is not the packing that a PSE retrofit comes in from Germany. This is what the box should have looked like:

The original packing is designed to take lots of abuse.

With that said, a dent or 2 on the exterior shell will not affect the mufflers performance.

...I don't know, it still has all the original Porsche packing labels on it.

Maybe it came across on a skid and was never meant to be shipped alone.

My argument right now is how hard did they have to hit it to create dents in the corners.?.

The whole thing just annoys me, I paid a couple grand for a new PSE, not a damaged one.

Try the FABSPEED website.

they have cut away pictures for their own as well as the factory Porsche mufflers if my attachment does not work.post-7878-1140129329_thumb.jpg
