Problems with Dealer

Recommended Posts

Just thought I would make you guys aware of a problem I have and no way to sort it out. I recently taken my car to a main dealer, with a suspected problem with my Clutch (bearing). As I understand the clutch is not covered under warranty but the bearing is, after investigation they have decided to only charge me for the repair kit (£400 + vat). After receiving the car back the clutch is making a creaking noise, now I am not to sure what to do because it sounds like they have made a mess of the job. If anyone can help that would be most appreciated.

You should document the problem with the Service Writer and mail a letter to Porsche, if you feel the noise is related to their work. You should also give them the opportunity to correct the problem. What does the "Repair Kit" consist ? How did the dealer document the repair? Very important, what year and model.

I have a 2005 Boxster with 3400 miles on it. The other day while driving, the clutch pedal started making a creaking noise. I took it to the dealer thinking it had to be just lubed. They told me that they had reports of similar problems and that they should replace the cross shaft and related bushings. I agreed to the repair. The next day it did the exact same thing. Needless to say I am really pissed. I contacted Porsche USA and I am waiting to see what they come back with.

If the noise is coming from the bellhouseing are, it is obvious that the dealer needs to rear it apart again, at their expense and make it right. There souldbe no question of that from the dealer. You paid for, and they claimed to have fixed and nstalled a new clutch. This requies them to deliver a properly running system to you. If it is a 99 or early 2000, make sure that they completed the TSB regarding a bad release lever for the clutch. This, by itself will casue lots of noises.
