The driver window in my coupe is not dropping the typical 1/4" that it should to allow easy opening and closing of the door. The window does drop slightly, about 1/8", but it still hangs up on the window gasket overhang when opening and closing. Other than that, the window works fine. I took it to the dealer to check it out and he says that I need a new window regulator to fix this problem. Overall the cost with parts and labor would be between $600-$650! Does this seem right to you? If so, is a regulator easily replaced for a weekend DIY guy? Finally, how much would the regulator cost from Brandywine/Sunset?ect?

Thanks for any help you can give.

Yeah you need a new regulator. The one you have is worn out (cable stretched, pulley damaged, etc) and thats why its not dropping enough to clear the body. The motor pulls the cables but if there is any slack at all the window wont drop enough. The fact that its dropping period means everything else is working properly.

Thanks for the good info, I posted a similar question a while back and still have the same issue...

What if the window is not dropping at all, and also the "one-click" up/down will not work. In addition, when using the window switch in 'manual' mode it only moves 1/4" then you have to release and repress again and repeat until window up or down? :help:

Tim,

Have you tried the battery disconnect and window re-teach yet? I recently had to do that after disconnecting the battery for the MAF cleaning (and thanks again for your help on that). Just wondering if some memory or prox sensor problem......
