Well that is the problem with the car. I have read that the Mass air flow sensor plug is a possibility and to unplug that and try. Also that the fuel pump relays on this car seem to be bad. Also heard about the immobilizer getting wet, ignition switch, and other types of battery problems. I'm thinking that the fuel pump relay may just be hung up from the cold weather or something.

Anyone have any suggestions to no start conditions, I'm thinking if the immobilizer, clutch switch, or battery was the problem, it wouldn't crank at all or well. I'm gonna do some testing out later, but just trying to get some experienced ideas before I go out to where it's stuck.

My sister though had an ignition switch problem with her car that tripped the immobilizer, and the car cranked but wouldn't start, has anyone heard of this problem? There is a check engine light too, and I'm sure that would be helpful. It had also come up for a moment when the car was being driven, and then went away. But after shutting it down it would not start, and is stuck now at a store.

Hmm. I would HIGHLY doubt the MAF.... but yeah if the car cranks but doesnt start its probably not the immobilizer or the clutch switch. If it was either of those on a newer Porsche, the car wouldnt even crank at all. A few things that come to mind is either a hose popped off the fuel level sending unit, or that the sending unit itself is bad and you're out of gas but the guage is telling you that you still have fuel.

You might want to try bringing a small gas can with you and putting some fuel in and seeing if thats the case. Check your fuses too, though I cant remember what fuse the fuel pump is off hand. Otherwise you'll probably have to get it flatbedded to a dealer and have them start checking it out.

when you turn the key to accessory, is the CEL test on? If the fuel pump isnt kicking on, with no CEL, check the connections to your DME.

Start at fuse C1 and B8, move on to the relay in pos. 1, then check pins 26, 27, and with the key on, pin 56.

I have the same problem. The car cranks but doesnt start... let me know if you are have no CEL, and I will elaborate as to how I get mine started... essentially, reset the DME by unplugging it. It will cause a CANBUS fault, but it may start. Also, look at the harness going into the DME for damage. One last thing tht worked for me for a while was simply disconnecting the batt for about 1 mike, then reconnecting, and wiggling the key seemed to help once!
