Hacks For Performance Exhaust

I put a sports exhaust on this week. My mechanic told me I should see if i can get a peformance upgrade or a hack to soup up my ride. He made it sound like thier may even be something out thier that would take advantage of my new PSE. Does anyone know where I can find these performace upgrades for the computer, or if this is s good idea?

I had heard the DME can be re-flashed for European look up tables allowing for performance increase. I had also heard of a few companies offering "piggy back" upgrades (an additional black box of electronics) allowing a less conservative fuel/timing algorithms.

I defer collective to help provide more info.
