X74 vs PSS9

Are there any advantages of the PSS9 over the X74 package? Does X74 package include bigger sways?

You mean X73 (for TT and C4S) right?

X73 does not include new swaybars - nor does PSS9. You can add the the GT3 adjustable swaybars to either - although I think you will need custom drop links.

Depends... how low do you want to go?

X73 will lower 20 mm (front and rear) and is fixed.

PSS9 will lower up to 50 mm and is adjustable. Plus with the PSS9's you can corner balance and use the adjustable sway bars to "fine tune" the handling.

Yes, X73 for TT. You will find 2 camps on this one. One has good reasons for stayiing with an OEM product (X73), the other...well PSS9s do give you the chance to play with more knobs (every guys dream). In any case either will be MUCH better than stock. I went with the FVD PSS9s and am very happy! I got an incredible deal also.

I bought them direct from FVD (1660) and I got them installed at Eurosport in Englewood (also had several other things done so exact price I don't know...about 700. Ask for Orrin (303.789.2545). Email: esl@netherworld.com.

WRoss this is my first turbo . when you had your emissions test did they put it on the double roller thing or did they do a 2 speed idle test off the rollers? I guess it might make a difference with which suspension I might get. I mean if they DO put it on the rollers and it is too low., don't want them to screw up the car. If I had the PSS9 maybe I could run it all the way up and clear the rollers and then set back down! Also does anyone recommend any particular adjustable sway bars for the 02 TT especially in conjunction with either PSS9 or X73?

Jim, I have a 2004 TT so no emissions for 3 or 4 years (I would have the dealer do it). As far as PSS9 go they are not height adjustable as you think. The adjustments (1-9) are for stiffness. Don't have sways on mine!

Loren when you say the PSS9 will lower up to 50mm does that mean I can adjust the height from 0 to -50mm with the adjusters? Or are the adjusters just for rebound dampening? Or is it you can adjust ride height as you are putting them on then only have rebound adjustment?

It's not really 0-50 mm. It is more like "up to 50 mm". With the adjusters all the way adjusted to the highest point you are still lower than stock. I think something around 20 mm lower. Gert might know exactly - but that is what I recall.

Found out from Bilstein site that you can set height from -20 to -50mm upon installation and if you want to change you have to get up on rack and loosen struts to reset the height adjustment nut. The knobs are only for rebound/compression settings.

Does anyone know if the motor mounts that come with the X73 have to be installed with motor out? Extra labor might affect if I get the PSS9 or X73? Going to keep the sways they are larger.

Replacing the motor mounts with the ones in the x-73 kit is very easy.....no need to drop the engine....takes less than 30min.

I went FVD Pss9s. They will give you smoother cruising and harder handling. The best of both worlds.
