wondering if anyone knows the specs of the oil drain plugs on a 2001 996TT.

need the specs for both the crankcase plug as well as the oil tank plug.

thinking about replacing both with fumoto valves.

Instead of starting a new thread with the same exact answer, i'll bring this one up. Does anyone know this??

The only thing Fumoto could tell me about the plug was that it was a 22mm plug which Porsche generally uses in their cars, but he wasn't certain the oil TANK plug was 22 mm. Can anyone confirm the oil TANK plug as being 22mm??

Thanks,

Dennis

Thanks Loren, is there any way to know the specs of the actual threads? I think that is what they need? The head of the drain is 19mm as per the DIY, but since I don't know much about the thread sizes, etc... do all 19mm bolts have the same thread on the other side of the head? Thanks for the help.

Sometimes PET shows the thread sizes on screw, plugs, etc. - but in the case of the oil tank they do not. So, someone would need to measure it.

On the case drain there is an insert in the case that is 20 x 1.5 mm - but that is likely the outside measurements. Again, best to get each of the plugs and measure them.
