Are the OEM ALUM pieces from the dealer just ABS painted Arctic Silver? I am thinking of just haveing the body shop here in town paint my console with the paint v. buying a new console ($200 v. $500). They have the factory paints. I would just need to give him the paint code. Anybody know it?

Yes. Your paint code is on the options sticker under the front hood and your options code sticker in the manual. Arctic Silver is either L92U or L92T (U is water based paint and T is oil based).

So the pieces that are ALUM look are in fact just ABS painted arctic silver (L92)?

My exterior is not artic silver but I have the alum look pieces in the interior. I just nned to know what paint code to give the body shop guy. He has several 1X1 sheets of metal that have Porsche paint on them with the code written in sharpie to match. If I give him L92 he will just pull that sheet (and a few similar) to compare. Just wanted to make sure I have the right to code as a reference point.

Thanks Loren!

LV....

AS will MATCH perfectly...I have the alu look steering wheel and the new console that was painted aftermarket(bodyshop) matched dead on. Just make sure they make the texture match, meaning minimal "orange peel" or pratically smooth visually and to the touch

you'll love the way it looks!

I have read a few posts where people say that there are too many silvers in their car. the door handle, bin lid trim, airbag logo are alu look, the trim on the aluminum e-brake is brushed aluminum. and if you get painted seatback they will usually be exterior paint to match unless specially ordered $$$. The alu-look pieces which are in every car are more sparkly than the arctic silver. If you have alot other of alu-look pieces in your car like steering wheel or bin lids/door pulls, instrument surround etc, I would just match that Alu-look rather than introducing a whole new color (AS) especially on a non-arctic silver car.
