Trying to decide if the price is worth the difference. Is the 3 spoke also smaller in diameter or just fatter grip? I would like a smaller diameter wheel as well as a fatter grip. Is an aftermarket wheel (RUF) or something else a good idea? They don't seem like much more $ than what the OEM 3 spoke is going for after you change the airbag and the wheel. Anyone have some advice?

Depending on what your color is you can probably find a good price on one on Ebay. Blacks and Greys are pretty common. I have Sav Beige. There was a 3 spoke wheel the other day that went for $116.00 w/o airbag. I could not find a Sav Beige airbag so I did not buy it. I recently bought a four spoke wheel and airbag for $150.00 in perfect condition, because mine was badly worn and had glue/marks on it. Then sold the old one for $100.00 with pictures of the problems. The buyer probably wanted the airgbag. I know there are several black 3 spoke wheels and airbags on ebay now.

I switched from a 4-spoke to a 3-spoke, mainly because my 4-spoke had the vinyl airbag without the gold colored crest. I later learned that you can get a leather/gold crest airbag for a 4-spoke wheel from one of the European parts suppliers. The 3-spoke seems to have a thicker rim. Otherwise, it's the same diameter.

the 3 spoke has roughly the same size diameter as the 4 spoke but there are 2 different options for the grip. there is a somewhat rare option of the thick grip steering wheel that some prefer but you usually don't see on eBay
