For some strange reason my sunroof on my 996TT won't automatically close to the correct position.

It constantly settles at a down angle (as seen in the pic) instead of being flush with the roof like it should be. All fuses are good...and I can make it flush with the roof by manipulating the sunroof button...but it won't do it on its own anymore.

Anyone have any idea what could be causing this? TIA.

Loren...you are THE MAN! Not just "A man"...but "THE man". Thank you for that...it worked immediately.

Now I just wish Porsche had decided to out it somewhere in my Owner's Manual. I literally went from back to front again in my manual and could not find anything like that anywhere.

Maybe I'm just blind tonight.

I have a different problem...my sunroof goes foward about 7/8 of the way and returns to the full open position. If i put upward presure on it while it closes all good. Is this the same problem as above or different.

Always try the re-training part first.

My sunroof is strange it "loses it" about twice a year. I re-train it and it is fine for 6 months again.

On my car there is a clicking sound coming from the roof when i drive on bad roads.

Are there any adjustments inside the roof or is it just to grease the sliding mechanism ?

I beleive this is a common problem on the 996 tt.

There are several TSBs for sunroof issues.

Most of the noise issues are solved with telfon tape and felt tape.
