I am interested in doing a auto cross about 3-4 times a year to keep my drinving skills up. . .

Got any suggestions, tips, or tricks you may have for me to make it easier/ more fun, or cost affordable? :drive:

The link below summarizes my cars mods:

For example, when I did the performance driving school I was sliding all around in my seat and by the end of the day my right shin had a nice bruise from pressing it up against the center console. . .

My thoughts were: There must be an affodable way to lock me down in the seat better, without buying GT3 alien head seats and a full harness setup...?

Or

maybe some of you have some tips on how to save weight and go faster?

Or

possibly what tools I should bring with me just in case???

there is a deal called a CG lock that goes on your seatbelt to do just that. I cannot comment on how well it works. I would go to a rear/mid engine driving school before anything. Also know that the auto X will eat pads and tires UP. Otherwise you will need a helmet. you can pull crap out of the car to save wieght but I dunno if you want to do that. I have a c2 and don't use the spare in the front don't have rear seats anymore have 5 spokes, gt3 seats, tequipment roll bar pss9's gt3 bars trg links, stoptech 14" brakes pagid orange, stainless lines, cup brake ducts, srf brake fluid, B&B headers, chip, gemballa exhaust, porsche SS, those are all relevant to tracking. Harnesses are as well of course.

YOu can always get a harness bar that you can put in and out and a harness. See about the cg lock thing. I would be interested. I have also heard of a trick using the stock seatbelt tensioner to do the same thing btw.

You can lock youself in the seat for free two ways.

1) Recline the seat backwards and/or slide it back in the track, jerk the shoulder belt and then while the belt is locked tilt the seat back forward and/or slide the seat forward until your body holds the belt in its locked state.

2) You can "lock" the lap belt by twisting the buckle once or twice before inserting it into the recepticle.

Make sure the gas tank is near empty, less than a 1/4. At a typical autox you wont even use 1 gallon. If you have the trip computer it should read about 50-75 miles to go when you arrive. Gas weighs about 7#/gallon.

Bring a tire gage and some way to inflate the tires.

Take advantage of any instruction. Going faster takes practice. 3-4 times a year is not often enough.
