I want to mount a GPS traffic camera locator in the middle of the dashboard on 2005 997 cab.

Where should I take the power from?

US or RoW car? (please fill in Location in your My Controls -> Profile)

Do you already have a factory or 3rd party phone in use?

I do not have a phone in use

I am not sure if RoW cars have phone prep. On US cars there is a connector behind the lower center console that is intended for phone hook up. It has 4 wires: +12 V switched, +12 V unswitched, ground, and Telephone mute.

We looked for the connector around the PCM and behind and could not find the connector. I have an '06 997 C4S. Where else can I look?

I think the phone connector went away when the 987/997 came out. I watched a mechanic remove the console on a 987, including taking out the trim below the radio. I did not see an unused phone connector like you would see on a US 986/996. Too bad because this was a handy source for switched and unswitched power.
