Snow Tires

Hello: Need to purchase Snow/Winter Tires for my 2001 911C2. Does anyone recommend any specific brands, and does it matter if H or V rated just for the winter months?

Porsche recommends:

Pirelli Winter W240 Snowsport N1

Pirelli Winter W240 Snowsport N3

Those are the only winter tires on their "approved" list.

I recommend blizzacks. I ran them and had good luck with them here in buffalo ny.

I have Blizzk LM22s also. The Porsche tires are still Z rated and as far as I know, you can't make a Z rated tire that works in snow, the compound is wrong. So, the LM22s are rated for 130mph which is plenty fast enough for winter driving...

Just got a pair of Dunlop Wintersport M2s, very cheaply. They are H-rated... Seems that this was the tire Porsche put on their "approved" list before they switched to the recommended Pirellis.

Just bought a 2002 C4 Cab, and will put Dunlop M3's on it this week. If this winter in western Mass is anything like last year, I'll certainly find out how well they work by the end of it!
