WHY? Not to be mean or anything but Bose is low end audio in a high line car. And trust me I know audio. The collective thought among audiophiles who are very picky says Bose is low rent. It makes as much sense as someone putting a big decal on a Pontiac that says "Pontiac we build excitement". I had someone the other day ask me if my Porsche is front wheel drive?!? I said to myself “there is someone how knows nothing about sports cars”. When people who know audio see that Bose sign they are going to think the same thing about you. Once again I am not trying to be mean but just letting you know.

I wouldn't call Bose low end audio. Maybe the system they help put into a factory car isn't anything spectacular, but that isn't what the manufacturer wants. They want an inexpensive, but hopefully passable system that has a well known name associated with it.

I remember in the '70s when Bose started selling there series 901 speakers. They were revolutionary! They have also been pioneers in home theater. Everyone has heard of Bose. This is just the name recognition Porsche wanted for there audio offering.

I'm sure if you put the name of "real" high end audio equipment on the windstop 99.99% of the people seeing it would wonder what a Focal (or anything else) was.

I think it looks fine!

I find it stunning how effective a good marking campaign can really be. The collective thought is Bose for home or car is inferior. The 901 was unique and most likely the best they ever made but still no better than mid grade. For some people, Bose fits them, and that’s great. For some a Timex watch is for them because they misplace or break things and a Timex is reasonably accurate, durable and easy to replace. But know what it is. If you go to a party and want to impress don’t act proud of it, hide it.

Any way your car looks like a ’05 from the picture and I would love to trade my ’04 for one but I literately have more money tied up in my home audio system than my current Boxster, and would be hurting for sure if I did trade it for an ’05. Enough of my rant, lets get back to the good stuff…PORSCHE!

I didn't know Bose made cars. When did they start doing that? :)

Aside from the audiophile opinions, I'd take it off. It's not you have a sponsor. What is this NASCAR. I've seen some that say either PORSCHE or Boxster that look pretty cool.

Happy motoring!

It looks fine. If some sees it and they dont like it f*ck it, who cares. You will not see them again anyway! or are going to start putting stuff that other people like on your car? <_<

Just wanted to say, interesting reading. Kind of new to the site, still trying to navigate. Need to get a shot of my car I quess, so I can have that attached. Have a porshce cd and porshce cd changer in the front trunk, not sure if they are made by porsche or what. Anyone know? Another thing that I think is cool, I took the boxster name of the back of the car and put the 986 numbers, which really fools people not familiar with the car, they don't know what it is. Anyway, any input would be appreciated.

No highs no lows.....it must be bose. Bose is the #1 selling speaker in the world. It is not about quality but is about MARKETING. I replaced my entire system. That being said, the bose upgrade is much better than the non-upgrade unit.

I would be interested in buying the Bose system from you if you are going to part with it.
