What do you mean? I can only guess one of two scenarios that you are referring to:

1. an old PCM disc that is sold to you from somebody that has upgraded to a new disc

or

2. obtaining an illegal copy of a current disc.

I sure hope you are not referring to the second choice or that I have totally misunderstood what you are asking.

I mean if it's possibile to by a new cd from Navtech or equal company that have more detailed data than Porsche orginal, or if the cd from a another car manufacture will work.

You can buy updates but they have to be from Porsche directly. If you log on to the Navtech website they will direct you to the dealer for replacements. Quite the money making deal they have!!! You CANNOT use a disc from anywhere else, as it will not work. I can't even use the PCM disc from my family's S class Mercedes in the M class Mercedes. Just another way for them to keep making money. Best thing for you to do if you want an updated disc is to find the best dealer price and so with that.

I have the 08/2004 update with 3 CD's as well if you want to buy a set much cheaper than Navteq will sell it to you for.

And I have gone round and round about this as well. Porsche discs needed for Porsche navigation systems. They stated that even with the same brand of navigation hardware (drive, electronics, etc) that another auto manufacturer's discs would not work.

Give me a shout if you want my set.

The problem is that I'm living in the northern parts of Sweden and Porsche doesn't know that Sweden is 1900 km long, on the Porsche cd it's only 700 km long and that is to the middel of Sweden

Well maby they still think the southern part of Sweden is still a part of Denmark, we should never have given it back......muhahahaa.

Try to update to the newest version of software if it don´t help there is nothing you can do.

hehe :)

You can go to a Porsche facility and ask them to update your PCM to a newer (software in PCM), in that version Sweden is "longer" :)

Update is free but you probbably have to buy the CDs and thats

2600 SEK

I did that last friday, but .... Sweden is not longer after the update.

Anyone that knows the possibility to use from another car ?

For example it's possible to use OPEL cd's in PCM1, I have done that in my 99-c2 and thats simple, it's only to take the database from OPEL cd and put that into the Porsche nav cd. and then it covers all of Sweden
